John Fetterman Campaign Asks TV Stations To Yank Oz Ad For Blatant Lies And Misinformation

Supporters of U.S. Senate candidate Mehmet Oz are running an ad in Pennsylvania that is so filled with lies and misinformation that the John Fetterman campaign has asked T.V. stations to stop running it.

The Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported:

John Fetterman’s campaign for U.S. Senate is asking T.V. stations in Pennsylvania to pull down one of his opponent’s television ads for spreading “blatant lies and misinformation” about his criminal justice reform positions.

The ad in question — paid for by the National Republican Senatorial Committee and approved by Republican candidate Mehmet Oz — claims that Mr. Fetterman wants to “eliminate life sentences for murderers” and release a third of all prisoners in the state.

PolitiFact has given the Oz ad a false rating, and there is no reason for television stations to continue to run it.

The Oz ad is an example of what losing campaigns do. Oz is trying to make himself into a mini-law and order Trump. Since he has no policies that are popular, and he is not popular, Oz is trying to scare voters in Pennsylvania into supporting him.

Oz has turned to fear-based campaigning sooner than most might have expected. The television stations need to pull the ad and not enable Oz to campaign on misinformation.
